The last thing I’d like to talk to you about is UVO. UVO was developed by me after dealing with the realities of sun damage over the years. Also I see patients regularly that have significant problems with long term sun damage. And despite that, they would not use their sunscreen. There were different reasons people didn’t like it. These reasons include toxicity concerns, not liking the feel or texture, not liking the fact that it would get on their grip when they were playing tennis or golf, not liking it getting in their eyes, etc. I’ve heard all the excuses and all the reasons why people don’t like sunscreen, and I understood. Using creams can sometimes be tough, especially doing it the right way and reapplying every 2 hours.
Out of all this came the need for me to find something else. Going through all the literature that was available, I found a host of vitamins and supplements that have significant benefit to the skin. These benefits included giving actual sun protection from the inside out, increasing collagen, decreasing wrinkles, removing brown spots, helping cell membrane repair itself, helping DNA repair itself, helping collagen repair itself, and increasing the amount of collagen for less wrinkling. And we put this all together and came up with a product that is a skin support supplement.
UVO provides three primary functional benefits. First, it protects the skin from the inside-out by stopping the UV damage. Second, if UV damage is occurring, it helps clean it up similar to antioxidants. It does that through the DNA repair, antioxidant function, collagen repair, and several other mechanisms. And third, if you take UVO every single day it helps bring the skin into a more normal state and it helps repair long term sun damage. I feel that UVO is going to change the way we think and act about our skin. And hopefully it will make a difference in people’s lives in order for them to have healthy skin in the long run and avoid some of the troubles that they face on a day to day basis.
